Fraudulent Property Dealers Exploit Victims as Police Remain Unresponsive
Multan — The city is grappling with a troubling rise in fraudulent property dealings, with unscrupulous dealers preying on unsuspecting individuals. Victims, left in distressing situations, are finding themselves without recourse as police inaction leaves them with few options.
Shoaikat Ali, a resident of the Gulgasht area, shared his harrowing experience with the media. In 2013, Ali entered into an agreement with Karamat Qureshi to purchase a plot of land on Bawa Safra Road. In return, Qureshi promised to transfer a 9-marla plot in Kotla Sadaat to Ali’s name. However, Qureshi later reneged on the deal and refused to hand over the land.
Despite enduring years of delays and repeated visits to Qureshi’s office, Ali has not seen any resolution. Recently, Qureshi allegedly sent armed men to Ali’s home, where they physically assaulted him and pressured him to abandon any legal claims. A complaint has been lodged at the Gulgasht Police Station.
In light of these events, Ali has called upon Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar to take immediate action. He is urging them to ensure a thorough investigation and to hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions.
